WEDDINGS
Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming and so can knowing where to start when choosing your vendors! We've put together a simple guide to how we work on wedding days to help you picture...how we get the pictures!
Groom Preparations

If you're both getting ready in the same place - at your venue for instance - then one photographer will be able to move between the bridal suite and the groom/second bride/second groom's room to capture secondary preparations too. This is a good opportunity to photograph details of the outfits and accessories that you've spent months choosing as well as the atmosphere amongst the groom's (or second groom/bride) party. If you're both getting ready in different places, we recommend booking our Heather or Juniper package so that a photographer can stick with each party during preparations. You can book us to start at different times if you feel that one party will need less coverage than the other.
Bridal Preparations

A lot of couples ask us what time we think it's best for us to start - and the answer really is that it's up to you! In our experience, having a photographer arrive once your make up artist has arrived allows you to relax a little before we start. We both pride ourselves on being adaptable according to the energy in the room - we've been known to assist in handing out toast to hungry bridal parties, wrangle wasps out of make-up areas and also shoot from quiet corners of rooms to allow for emotional moments to play out organically. Our priority during preparation time is that you are able to relax and enjoy being pampered after months of planning - so we work hard behind the scenes to make sure every detail is captured - from gowns, to jewellery, to shoes, to bridesmaid's gifts - we'll find it, stage it, shoot it, and return it without you having to lift a finger.
First Look Moments

Many couples share with us that it's important to them to have a "first look" moment captured. Whether it's their partner, Mum or Dad seeing them in their wedding attire for the first time or it's the couple wanting the moment they see their venue dressed up for the day for the first time captured in time - this is something that we can organise and facilitate. We always make contact with your wedding organiser prior to your wedding day and arrive early on the day to check out the logistics of key moments like confetti shots, 'first looks' and ring exchanges with wedding organisers, venue managers & celebrants. You won't feel it on the day - but if you've asked for a certain moment to be captured, we'll have made sure that it all comes together in the moment to photograph beautifully without it feeling in anyway orchestrated.
The Ceremony

If you've chosen a package with single photographer coverage, your main shooter - Nathan - will use mixed focal ranges to capture a mixture of perspectives on your ceremony. Depending on the rules laid out by your celebrant or vicar, he will move around during the ceremony without interrupting the flow or visibility for anyone involved to ensure that all of the key moments are captured. If you've booked a package which includes dual photographer coverage, you'll have photographs captured from the end of the aisle and the front of the aisle, as well as a higher number of audience photographs. We automatically look out for key moments such as vows, ring exchange, first kiss etc - but as our style is emotive storytelling, a lot of the photography captured during the ceremony is focused on the emotions experienced by the couple and the audience as well as any children (or pets!) involved in the ceremony.
