Let us say hello...

We are a husband and wife team based in the rural North East of England where we live on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Moors. We are both inspired by the beauty of the landscapes we were surrounded by growing up in the Yorkshire Dales and are now getting to know in the North East and love discovering new locations through our brides and grooms - from coastal inns to post-industrial warehouses to stately homes; our area is brimming with inspiration!

We both have a background of working in photography and visual media, but consolidated our knowledge into Heather & Hawthorn after learning the power of storytelling & documentary-style photography through our own experience as a bride and groom. Capturing the honest and authentic emotions moment to moment whilst conveying the story and background of a couple's relationship, culture and world all inform the way that we work today. We're really not photographers who just turn up on the day - we invest time into making sure that the photography package that we put together - right down to the finishing touches in how we deliver them to you - create a time capsule that will forever pull you back to a whole chapter in the story of your lives together.

When you get in touch with us initially you can expect to be contacted by Darcie to find out more about your day and you will be offered the opportunity to meet us both via Zoom to get a feel for who we are and ask questions that you might have. If you book one photographer, Nathan will be your main photographer. Meanwhile, Darcie will be in the editing suite waiting to receive the photographs of your day!
