Chris & Hannah

Engagement Shoot - August 2021

It was the hottest day of the year so far when we arrived at Hannah's family farm to photograph her and her brand new fiance Chris in the most beautiful corner of County Durham. We set off on foot from the couple's home on the farm in search for spots to start shooting and were immediately spoilt by breath taking views, made all the more perfect by the wall to wall blue skies. The farm offered wheat and barley fields dappled with mid-afternoon sun; wide meadows of summer grass and quiet lanes lined with newly cut fields scattered with bales for us to have some fun with.

Farming is central to Chris and Hannah's worlds and is the reason that they met each other so it was important to us to capture the magic of this farming landscape and the four legged characters that bring it to life. Hannah and Chris demonstrated great patience during the shoot waiting for their prize cattle to show us their best sides and we feel they came up a treat in the end!

The whole day was so full of love that Nathan and I felt quite enchanted by it; the shoot itself was a gift from the bride to be's sister, and all day we were struck by the warmth and love that the close knit farming family had for this soon to be married couple; especially Dad who gave up his time to tempt the cows across the field for a photograph with bags of food!

We were so honoured to be able to capture the engagement celebration of this lovely couple and to enjoy a beautiful afternoon in such a special location; we can't wait to catch up with Hannah and Chris when they've tied the knot!

A perfect example of why we encourage our couple's to decide where to have their photoshoot's - because they know their own story the best!
